Leo Rising/Solar: A Love Letter to Those Who Have Been Told They’re “Too Much”

the sun was meant to shine

it can’t control it’s light

don’t look to close it may blind you

it’s brightness is unattainable

can’t be explained

just soaked up

and appreciated

though some people complain

they say it’s too much

they say they like the sun

but when it’s dimmed

when it’s not too hot

but warm enough

sometimes the burns you

though that’s not it’s intention

the sun knows it’s power and yet

the sun never stops shining

even when it rains

the sun may surprise you

it says wipe your tears

remember who you are

and a beautiful rainbow appears

an array of emotions

the security of knowing

knowing it’s near

because the sun

never stops shining

it pays no matter to the moans and groans

because the sun knows

the sun knows it’s needed

it’s desired always but not in all ways

it’s not on the sun to apologize for it’s light

or for resting when others wished it would rise

the sun has it’s purpose

it was not to please

but simply to ease

give us hope for a new day

but it’s cool if you’d rather hide in shade
